Visits from our Yale Neighbors

It was fun to see our neighbors Bob and Sue Moore. They were here  to attend
a wedding for one of their former sister missionaries that served on Temple Square.
Just so happens I know some of their former missionaries from China  and
elsewhere since I have helped them with their personality types in the office.

Then we were surprised by Jeanne and Martha Fetzer who happened upon us
while we were eating our lunch with some other senior missionaries.

This was  our bike ride yesterday. We finally had a reprieve from the rain and took
a muddy ride around Turtle Bay. Unfortunately, Bill had to pump up a flat tire
three times to get home.

You can see that the ride was  well worth it though.

Our Ward Ohana

Her is our Ward Ohana "or family in Hawaiian". We have members from Kiribati,
to Sri Lanka to Hong Kong to Fiji to Japan and elsewhere. Our wonderful, caring Bishop Mahoni
was born in New Zealand of Maori descent. He is just in front of the left rock column in the
back row and it is hard to see him clearly. The other senior couple serving with us are the
Williams from Orange County. It is an honor to serve with these  amazing students and they
are great examples to us.

Next time we are definitely bringing our mountain bikes.

On our "P-day yesterday we checked out
this beautiful trail above Shark's Cove.

Happy Easter

Easter egg hunt Hawaiian style. Hundreds of kids roamed Gunstock Ranch
in search of candy -filled eggs and hard-boiled ones. The Easter Bunny
even made an entrance riding a horse.

This was our dinner last night. The head is the most prized part
to eat. We graciously left that part for others.

Here are most of the great people I serve with. The student workers
are amazing and come from all over the world; Korea, Hong Kong,
Samoa, New Zealand, Taiwan, China, Mongolia and Japan. And there are
some haoles in the group. We are honored to serve and learn from them.
We remember our Lord  and Savior Jesus Christ who lived and died for us.
That is truly what we celebrate each easter season.  We are humbled to serve
some of His children here in beautiful Hawaii.

Service Day at the Office

Here are some of my coworkers participating in our monthly
service day. We are weeding the area around the married student housing buildings.
Sherelle on the left is from New Zealand, AJ  and Laura in the middle are from
Washington State and Dallin in the back is from New Zealand.

Jerry is from Taiwan, Taliana Oahu and Laura from Blanding, Utah.

Sachi, who used to work for us, is expecting a boy, her first child, in June.
She and her husband are returning to Japan after the baby is born. I
made this blessing blanket for her. We will miss her.  As you can
see we have the pleasure to work with students from all over
the world.

We enjoyed a visit from David and Nancy Cox, dear friends of our children
Michael and Catherine and Catherine's family.

Out and About

These are Bill's new work-out buddies at the gym. No Bill hasn't
shrunk.  These guys on either side of Bill can dead lift 500 lbs a
piece. And don't worry, Bill won't be dancing at the PCC
anytime soon.
Oh which way should we go?

This pill box from WWII overlooks the ocean.

Snorkeling at Electric Beach with missionary friends the
Tregaskes aand Muellers. We saw turtles and lots of fish.
